I started making music at a young age, around the age of six or seven. The piano was my first instrument and I’ve been playing it ever since!

Wat maakt jouw instrument zo leuk?
I really like to play the piano, you can do so many different things with it! I think it’s fantastic that you can come up with interesting arrangements for your favorite songs without needing a band. The piano can be a complete orchestra, if you want it to be. Although, I also really enjoy the role of the piano in the band! It’s so much fun to guard harmony!
Welke instrumenten speel je nog meer?
I play a little guitar (I’m a big fan of The Beatles!). When I was younger, I played a little trumpet too!
Wat vind je het leukste aan lesgeven?
I love to see how my students develop a real passion for music. I love to see how they can have a lot of fun playing their instrument and how they can play their favourite songs! Makes me incredibly happy to see my students have music in their life as source of joy :)
Welke artiest/band geeft jou veel inspiratie?
Big question! When it comes to my piano heroes, it would be Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarrett and Red Garland. Besides jazz, I’m a huge Beatles fan, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire and Joni Mitchell are high up on the list!
Treed je zelf ook op?
Writing music is currently a big part of my musical projects! I’ve started composing while still in my studies, but the last couple of months I’ve started doing some studio recordings, which is very exciting! I’m hoping to have some things released later this year :)
Wat is het beste concert dat je ooit gezien hebt?
It would probably be Herbie Hancock! I was incredibly lucky and grateful that I could see this legend perform!

I started while still in my studies, it would have been around 2024 when I started teaching my first students!

Wat wil je verder nog over jezelf vertellen?
I really hope that my teaching inspires people to engage with music if they feel drawn to it even the slightest bit. I consider myself to be very lucky to be able to pursue my passion and I hope that my enthusiasm is infectious for my students. I think music is incredibly important and greatly meaningful, especially in today’s world. As a musician, I feel obliged to inspire other people to develop joyful relationships with their instruments as I’ve seen for myself how much good music can bring to one’s life :)
